Sounds about right for right now. All the animation. All the recording. All the production.

One of my favorites. I am the weird person that likes Peter after he left Genesis and like Phil better. Although,
The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is a friggen good album.

Great song!
...and car

agree - both got to do what they were better at afterwards. I liked the slow, constant rolling nature of this track - kinda laid back but still powerful.

I like both Peter Gabriel’s and Phil Collins’s post-Genesis stuff better than anything they did together. PG put out
INCREDIBLE albums in the 90s.

Great production.

You are not alone in your opinions. Both PG and Genesis matured into something better after their separation.

I just think Peter needed to.... go on his own. Yet IIRC he helped Phil work on the album without him (can’t remember the name of it) Someone else who I love solo is David Byrne. He’s great but Stop Making Sense is like one of the best friggen live shows like....ever...

Carpet Crawlers is probably my favorite Genesis song, but Genesis put out some great music without Gabriel.
And Peter Gabriel Plays Live is just a fucking amazing album. One of the greatest.

Byrne is fantastic.
Adding Brian Eno took them to the top.

OMG Strange Overtones with Byrne and Eno.... like... just...yes.....

I was referring to Talking Heads work in the 80s but yeah that’s awesome too!

If I remember... Eno was in.... Roxy Music, I think?
![]() 10/07/2019 at 22:29 |

Yes - although I always think of him as Talking Heads’ producer ( he’s done way more than just that)

Possibly the best song about bonking that I've ever heard. I still pull out So on occasion...and the R-kive compilation gets a run as well.

For sure. Stop Making Sense is David Byrne at his best, except when he’s working with Brian Eno. They all had a sense for how life should work.
Peter Gabriel’s post-Genesis stuff still floors me.

I am glad we got some music folks ‘round here.... for fun!!!!!
Tina Weymouth is so underrated

They collaborated a few times. For instance, Phil was the drummer for Intruder, PG did backing vocals on Take Me Home, etc, etc. I really liked the Carpet Crawlers remake, too.

Honestly his stuff in the late 70s/ early 80s is what still blows me away.

I’m really bummed that I missed the Back to a Front tour, when he played here at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony.

Yes, thank you, and Peter did a huge concert about it....sorry, it’s been a long day.
